A little bit about my approach

I hold a trauma-informed, queer affirmative, social justice lens and intersectional stance as a mental health professional.

I borrow from the frameworks of narrative therapy, somatic psychotherapy and internal family systems.

What I mean as I use these terms to encapsulate my work: I recognize there is a relationship that exists between individuals and the systems that they are coming from/born into. Our personal experiences are shaped by the realities of the world we are living in. As a practitioner, I work with people to explore what experiences they want to bring to therapy and the context they are coming from.

A letter from me to you

In today’s fast-paced, instant-gratification oriented world, the practice of slowness is becoming more and more difficult to inculcate within ourselves. Therapy offers a different rhythm—one of patience and reflection.
If therapy were a person, I’d imagine them as someone who waits by the door, seeking permission to enter, lingering with questions. Therapy is a quiet, compassionate presence—like a warm sweater on a cold day—offering tools and companionship as you navigate your journey. I see them waiting patiently as you figure out your own words. They won’t focus on quick fixes, rather will be by your side every step of the way as you cook your own recipe for healing, suggesting ingredients and methods.
This approach is rooted in the space I hold as a practitioner: An attempt to support and foster you as you revisit parts of yourselves. Each session reveals opportunities to redefine our narratives and embrace what healing can look like for us. I will walk with you as you try doing so with warmth, curiosity and care.
As you move forward to read more about my work, I urge you to ask yourself:
How can therapy support me in my journey?
What do I imagine this space to be for me?
If what is presented of my work resonates with you, feel free to contact me. I’m here to support you.
With warmth,
Sanjana
